iOS asks permission to find devices on the local network the first time you host or join. If that was declined, VolleySync can't see anything. Turn it back on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › VolleySync. Both phones also need Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched on. They don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, or on any network at all.
Codes go through iCloud, so both phones need an internet connection. The scorekeeper also needs to be signed in to iCloud; people following along don't. Codes are six digits. If the gym has no signal, use Nearby instead. It needs no internet.
Check that the team is listed under Join a Game › Following with the bell on, that notifications are allowed in Settings › Notifications › VolleySync, and that you're signed in to iCloud. Notifications are only sent when the scorekeeper starts a match for that team with the share code on. The scorekeeper's own phone never receives its own team's notification; that's how Apple's iCloud works. Missed one? Live games from teams you follow also appear under Live now on the home screen.
Check it with whoever sent it. Some characters look alike: 6 and G, 8 and B, 5 and S, 2 and Z. Team codes never use the letters I or O or the digits 0 or 1.
You shouldn't. VolleySync remembers what you were following and reconnects on its own when you come back. iOS suspends apps in the background, so there's a moment while it catches up; the last score stays on screen meanwhile. If the match has ended, you'll see Final.
Finished matches are in Match History with their full box score. When a match is won, VolleySync saves it automatically a minute later if nobody taps anything. If you're signed in to iCloud, history also appears on your other devices.
Open the Plays tab and tap the play. You can re-credit it to a different player, move it to the other team, or delete it. The score and box score recalculate themselves.
Not yet. One phone hosts and controls the score; everyone else has a live read-only copy. It's on the list.
No. VolleySync is an iPhone app.
